Ron J. Houde, Jr. is a partner at Bartlett & Grippe LLC. He is a trial and appellate lawyer practicing in the areas of insurance defense, personal injury, municipal defense, insurance coverage, and general litigation. He practices throughout Connecticut in state, federal, and tribal courts. Ron seeks efficient and just resolution for all his clients whether through trial, dispositive motions, or alternative dispute resolution.

From 2018 to 2024, Connecticut Super Lawyers selected Ron as a Rising Star, an exclusive list of top-rated attorneys in specific practice areas who were chosen after thorough evaluation of numerous criteria. In 2018, the Connecticut Law Tribune honored him as a New Leader in the Law. From 2019-2021, the Connecticut Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section recognized Ron as Star of the Year and from 2021-2022 as Volunteer of the Year.

Prior to joining the firm, Ron worked at two insurance defense firms in Hartford. He also served as a clerk to the Honorable Kevin Dubay, Peter E. Wiese, and Constance Epstein, among other Judges of the Hartford Superior Court. He received his J.D. from Western New England University School of Law in 2015 and his B.A. in Economics from the University of Connecticut in 2010. He is admitted to practice in the State and Federal Courts of Connecticut, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Court, the Mohegan Gaming Disputes Court, and the U.S Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Ron is a dedicated member of the Connecticut Bar Association, and a past member of the George W. Crawford Black Bar Association and the Oliver Ellsworth American Inn of Court. He is engaged in his community and serves on the Board of Directors for the Wallingford Dog Lovers Association. He is a 2019 graduate of Leadership Greater Hartford’s Quest Program.

Ron grew up in Branford and now resides in Durham with his wife, son, and rescue dog. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, snowboarding, and woodworking.
